Learning targets
- Set up a notebook: identification, table of contents, sequential pages.
- Correct mistakes with a single line and an explanation — never erase.
- Know that a witness signature acknowledges a page; it is not a grade.
Bound, numbered, never torn out
Paper notebooks are bound and pre-numbered so no page can disappear. ScribEN does the same digitally: page numbers come from the server in strict order and committed pages can't be deleted.
Mistakes stay visible
Draw one line through a mistake so it can still be read, then write the correction with the date, your initials and a reason. If a calculation or summary turns out wrong, draw a neat X through it. If data changes, explain why.
- Line through — not erase
- X-out — wrong calculation or summary
- Data change — explain the change
- Addendum — dated extra information
Signatures
You sign each page when it's complete. Your teacher witnesses it and gives feedback; you then make the changes. A witness signature is not an indication of proficiency.
- Use X-out for an incorrect calculation and data-change for revised data, choosing correctly between them.
