Learning targets
- Write procedures with materials, settings, quantities and order.
- Spot the details a reader would need to repeat your test.
The duplication test
Your notebook should contain enough information that someone could duplicate your findings by following your procedures. Ask: could a classmate repeat this tomorrow without asking me anything?
What to include
Equipment and setup, settings and quantities, the order of steps, how many repeats, how you measured, and anything unusual.
Second-year extension:
- Account for measurement error and parameters that affect results (ENP04.01).
