Learning targets
- Write the formula before the numbers.
- Label every quantity with its unit.
- Justify the formula you chose.
Show the logic
Calculations should be made in a logical way: formula → values substituted with units → result with a unit. If a calculation turns out wrong, X it out and redo it — don't erase.
- All factors clearly labeled with units
- Choose and justify the formula
- Check the unit of the result
Units carry meaning
N × m gives N·m. V ÷ Ω gives A. A ratio of grams to grams has no unit — write “1” or “unitless” so it's clear you checked.
Second-year extension:
- Chain calculations (capacity → current → time) and check the result against a sanity estimate.
